VIGONOVO (VENICE) – Yesterday, shoes produced in the Riviera del Brenta arrived at Rihanna’s home in Los Angeles. Rihanna, an international pop star, singer, and model, is the proud owner of these shoes. The success is credited to Agostini Shoes, owned by Adriano and Paolo Agostini from Vigonovo, as emphasized by the “City of the Riviera del Brenta” Association of Artisans and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, of which Agostini is a part. The shoes were crafted in recent weeks and delivered with the utmost secrecy. There was strict confidentiality regarding the model and features of the product ordered by the prestigious world-renowned client.
How did a small Venetian company achieve such recognition from a major celebrity? “During an event in London in recent weeks,” explains owner Adriano Agostini, head of the footwear and fashion category for local artisans, “we highlighted some handcrafted models of high quality. It was on this occasion that our creations caught Rihanna’s attention, and she ‘fell in love’ with our shoes. She then exclusively ordered custom-made pairs for herself, sending us the order through her staff. We are thrilled with the achieved result, which confirms the exceptional quality of our footwear and craftsmanship.”
This success underscores the excellence of the footwear district of the Riviera del Brenta, especially in high-fashion women’s shoes, where Agostini Shoes specializes, winning significant industry awards. The Agostini family is no stranger to such achievements. Before Rihanna, Mariah Carey had ordered their creations in 2016, and in 2014, the wife of then-US President Barack Obama, Michelle, had also requested their shoes. The company, with 28 employees, was honored with the Marco Polo Award in 1993 and 2012 for its international success. Founded in 1959 by Luigi Agostini, a craftsman of handmade custom shoes, the company is currently run by his sons Adriano and Paolo.
